The best spot to get a dose of sun (or an appropriate amount of shade) is the Serenity Deck a beautifully relaxing spot for adults only (the minimum age to relax here is 21). Located on the very top deck -- Deck the space is gorgeously appointed, with sun beds, lounge chairs, hammocks and clamshells. You'll find faux palm trees and bright yellow umbrellas, along with some of the best views from the ship. It's away from the action of the Beach Pool area, so it really is quiet and far less busy.

The second quarter involves pool deck games where passengers have to dress up in football gear to complete team races. There's also a hot tub at Loft 19 on Deck 19, which charges a fee for access. Go one deck farther, and you can choose between the Havana Bar, which serves Latin-themed cocktails, and the Heroes Tribute Lounge, which has a special menu of drinks dedicated to military members. Back inside, Deck 6's Piano Bar is where passengers can order a tipple while an onboard pianist tickles the ivories. Make your way up a deck, and you'll find the Limelight Lounge, which serves as a secondary performance space and trivia outpost.
Tweens and Teens on Carnival Horizon
After 300 plus cruises, I can attest that the wifi on board Carnival Celebration is by far the best I’ve ever experienced on any ship and that even includes Princess’ Medallion Class. I also found that the single device rule was actually quite easy to negotiate, with a simple click or two to disable one device and activate another. With two to nine-day cruises from Tampa to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, Carnival Paradise literally takes cruisers to paradise islands. The ship brims with fun amenities like the WaterWorks splash zone and the relaxing Cloud 9 Spa.

Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) is allowed but only in designated outdoor areas on Deck 8 mid-ship on the starboard side. Smoking is also allowed on the starboard side of the casino, but it's for cigarettes only. All types of smoking are forbidden in cabins and on cabin balconies.
Carnival Jubilee restaurants and bars
On Carnival Magic, Deluxe Ocean View staterooms are a great choice for families who want to let the sun shine in as they sail. Rooms in this category feature great views, a full bathroom — plus a separate washroom — and while stateroom configurations vary, certain Deluxe Ocean View rooms have space to sleep up to five cruisers. Here's your chance to dip a toe into onboard entertainment, activities, bars and more… so that when you cruise, you're ready to dive headfirst into the fun. During the evenings, the official dress code is pretty laid-back. Most nights are designated "cruise casual," which means just that — khakis or jeans, polo shirts, sundresses and the like. Super casual items such as cutoff jeans, men's sleeveless shirts, T-shirts and gym shorts are supposedly not permitted, but I saw plenty of them in the dining rooms during dinnertime on Carnival Jubilee.

However, the service was generally excellent, with an exceedingly friendly crew. When Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Jubilee debuted in December 2023, it became the third ship in the line's Excel Class, closely mimicking sister ships Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. Although there are more similarities than differences among the three, Carnival has still found a way to make Carnival Jubilee innovative and fun by tweaking a few of the offerings. The fitness center carries a range of cardiovascular equipment, such as treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines and stationary bikes.
The colorful, creative space features an ocean motif, and programming focuses on things like active play, arts and crafts, music, and science and discovery -- many of which are inspired by the ocean. Furniture in Camp Ocean is properly kid-sized, and the room features beanbags, tumble mats and brightly colored blankets. The space also includes televisions for movies and video games, plenty of toys, slides and games. There's also a creative corner, with tables and hand-washing stations, for arts and crafts.

Kids Clubs on Carnival Celebration: Camp Ocean
If you’re into eating healthy and staying fit, you’ll have no problem keeping up your healthy lifestyle on the ship. Get in a good workout at the fitness center, where you’ll also have the opportunity to join in on an assortment of fun and energetic fitness classes. There are also a number of other bars that can be found onboard, including a tequila bar, a pour your own beer station, piano bar, karaoke bar and specialty cocktail bars.
FUN ON DECK
Lunches aren't provided on sea days, but on shore days, kids can enjoy lunch in the Lido Marketplace, while parents are ashore. Horizon's main dining rooms offer kids menus as part of a dinner-time coloring book, with fun distraction features like word finds and mazes. The spa also features a good-sized Thermal Suite, featuring steam rooms (including aroma and hammam), dry heat chambers, experience showers and a large whirlpool. The only thing that's missing is a thalassotherapy pool, which would be a nice touch in the space. There also are nine heated ceramic lounge chairs, which were well-used on our cruise.
Although it's often loud, busy and difficult to navigate, especially on sea days, it's a prime place to sit and people-watch. I found myself gravitating there repeatedly to enjoy coffee or a snack from the nearby JavaBlue Cafe while watching the cast from that night's show rehearse at Center Stage — something you can't usually do on other ships. Parents must sign in and out kids younger than 9 years old, but they can elect to give kids 9 and older the ability to sign themselves out. Camp Ocean provides hosted kids-only dinners each night (except the first night) in the Lido Marketplace. Menus are kid-friendly, with options like pizza, fish sticks and hamburgers.
Although the first half felt a bit shaky and slightly boring to me, the second half redeemed it all, featuring a parade of dancers and aerialists dressed in flamboyant costumes synonymous with Rio de Janeiro's Carnival. If you're interested in spending time outdoors working on your tan by the pool, you can do so at one of five onboard pools. I also wasn't impressed with how long it took a bartender to ask for my order, especially since it wasn't particularly crowded. My two most disappointing extra-fee food encounters on Carnival Jubilee were Seafood Shack (Deck 16, in the Lido zone, near the pool) and room service. The space is simply packed with tables — so much so that there were only about two inches between my table and the one next to me, even though I was dining alone. It then took nearly 10 minutes for a waiter to bring me water and another 10 before someone came to take my order.
Circle “C” and Club O2 are designed for young teens (12-14) and older teens (15-17), respectively. These clubs provide a great place to hang out without the parents. Teens can also enjoy Digital Play, Party Time and Active Play, all designed to foster group engagement. Younger kids can take part in Camp Ocean, which is a supervised program designed to enlighten and entertain young minds. The wild and wacky world of Dr. Seuss is also onboard, offering plenty of silly times for kids of all ages.
